New Delhi: National vector-borne surveillance figures reveal an 80% decrease in malaria mortality over the past decade, placing India on a trajectory toward zero indigenous transmission by 2030.

Kala-azar has maintained sub-threshold elimination levels across all endemic blocks since 2023, while lymphatic filariasis transmission has ceased in 41% of historical hotspots.
