Athens: In a landmark ceremony at the Panathenaic Stadium on September 10, 2026, the Olympic Flame for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games was ignited and formally handed over to the Dakar 2026 Organizing Committee.

Arriving in Dakar on September 12, the flame will embark on a nationwide relay before the Games commence from October 31 to November 13, 2026, celebrating Africa's premier Olympic milestone.
